PUGS WITH A ROYAL CONNECTION

Adorable Pugs
I have to confess I adore pugs especially my own I have one called Benji. Pugs are very clever loyal and affectionate animals and are very good with children so can be trusted not to bite or be vicious .
Pugs originated in China around 700 BC, they were treated as imperial property by the Emperors of China eating the best meat and rice dishes.
NAPOLEAN.
Napolean and his wife Josephine had a pug but Napolean wasnt at all keen on pugs especially as Josephine liked to share the bed with the pug , he was angry about this and said no pugs were allowed in the marital bed so Josephine put her foot down and said if pug wasnt allowed in the marital bed then she herself would sleep elsewhere !!!
THE DUKE AND DUCHESS OF WINDSOR
The Duke and Duchess of Windsor adored pugs and took them all over the world on their visits. They had three charming pugs they were great companions for her after the Duke died and she was alone , they were like her children in fact.
When she got quite old and sick her lawyer took over her affairs and banned them from anywhere near her saying they bought infection. This I felt was a very harsh and cruel decision to bar the Duchess from seeing her beloved pets.
CELEBRITIES WHO OWN PUG DOGS
Pug dogs are very popular with the following stars George Clooney Kelly Brook and Paris Hilton among many others...
Companions
Pets make great companions especially for people on their own. They are also very good little guard dogs with great hearing so if you live alone I would recommend them highly. They do not tolerate great heat preferring cooler conditions but if you have air conditioning they should be fine . I have to say my little pug is not so keen on water or swimming , or it might just might be because my dog just doesnt like water.
Pugs are very sociable little dogs very good with children and other animals, but a big but dislike being shouted at and noisy enviroments ..
What I particularly like about pugs is they dont continually bark or yap . They are also very intelligent and learn very quickly , the pug is not suited to being left in outdoor kennels as they adore people and like to be around others.
Queen Victoria owned many pugs which she bred herself she favoured the apricot/fawn colouring. Pugs were also very popular in Italy and much of Europe.....
